Museum Quality Giclee prints available. This painting explores the shifting relationship between sky, land, and atmosphere. It captures a moment of suspension—when weather gathers, light fractures, and colour intensifies before release. Working with layers of acrylic and gilding powders, I build depth and luminosity, allowing surfaces to catch and reflect light in ways that echo the natural world. The copper and ochre tones suggest warmth alongside the approach of storm, while the turquoise horizon offers a quiet counterpoint—a pause within movement. The composition moves between density and openness, grounding and lift, creating a sense of space that is both expansive and intimate. Rather than depicting a specific place, the work sits between memory and sensation. It reflects an emotional response to landscape, inviting the viewer to inhabit that fleeting threshold where atmosphere becomes tangible and the familiar dissolves into something elemental and abstract.
